Kehillat Kesher is a contemporary Orthodox initiative, promoting an inclusive perspective welcoming all Jews and their partners. It focuses on those in the mainstream grappling to find their place and it reaches out to those who may feel alienated, hesitant or uncomfortable in the traditional Orthodox community – be they singles or families, LGBTI+, or in a mixed marriage.
It is not a regular shul, but offers specially tailored life cycle events (e.g. bar/bat mitzvahs and weddings) and occasional shul services (like Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur). It is a space for people to connect in a personal way at special times in their lives to their Judaism. It also offers counselling, mentoring, public speaking, regular blogs, and educational opportunities. Its mission is to connect us to other Jews and to all who seek to create a more compassionate and principled society.
